What are the types of lease agreements for Owner Operators?

Lease On

Lease to Purchase

Lease Program

Lease-on Owner-Operator Agreement

This option is ideal for owner-operators who already own their truck but want steady freight and professional support.

Under a lease-on agreement, you keep full ownership of your truck and lease it to Highwayhaul Logistics Inc. so we can operate under our authority. You drive your truck, and we help keep you moving.

As a leased-on owner-operator, we handle the back-office work, including:

Freight dispatching

Load planning and coordination

Required paperwork and carrier compliance support

This allows you to focus on driving and earning, while we take care of finding loads and managing the operational side of the business.

Lease-to-Purchase (Lease-to-Own) Agreement

The Lease-to-Purchase program is a great option for drivers who want to become owner-operators but don’t want to buy a truck upfront.

With this agreement, Highwayhaul Logistics Inc. provides the truck, and you make monthly lease payments while operating under our authority. Throughout the contract, you use the truck to run loads and earn income. At the end of the agreement, you have the option to purchase the truck and become a full owner-operator.

This program is ideal for drivers who want to:

Transition into ownership over time

Gain experience as an owner-operator

Build their business and industry network

Important to know:
In most lease-to-purchase agreements, the
driver is responsible for maintenance and repair costs. If the truck is older, maintenance needs may be more frequent compared to a newer unit. We always encourage drivers to understand these responsibilities before choosing this option.

Lease Program

The Lease Program is designed for drivers who do not currently own a truck but want the opportunity to operate as an owner-operator.

Similar to leasing a car, Highwayhaul Logistics Inc. provides the truck, and you pay a monthly lease payment to use it while running loads under our authority. This program allows drivers to gain real-world experience, build income, and operate without the upfront cost of purchasing equipment.

At the end of the lease term:

You may renew the lease, or

You may switch to a different truck, subject to availability

Important to know:
This program
does not require purchasing the truck at the end of the lease. However, certain requirements may apply, such as credit approval, security deposits, or down payments, depending on the specific lease terms.
